Visitor Appointment Policies
Outside users who wish to access the Law Library facility may do so on an appointment basis for the purposes of accessing legal research materials that are unique to our physical collection.
Visitor Hours: Tuesday and Wednesday 11 am - 3 pm
While classes are in session (excluding reading & exam weeks & interim periods)
By appointment only
If you have any questions about these hours, please reach out to us at lawref@uw.edu.
Registration for appointments closes three hours before the appointment begins.
At the date and time of your appointment, please come to the Memorial Way entrance to William H. Gates Hall and call the number posted on the sign on the door. William H. Gates Hall is currently closed to outside visitors. You must wait for library staff to come let you in. Following current law community members into the building is strictly prohibited. Failure to abide by this or any other aspect of our Code of Conduct can result in a permanent ban from the facility.
Appointments are for one hour. You may reserve multiple hours in one day.
An active UW Borrower's card or identification and a legal research need are required upon entry.
All appointments may be canceled due to library staffing emergencies (WAC 478-168).
All in-person library visitors must abide by the Law Library Code of Conduct and the relevant provisions of the Washington Administrative Code governing University Libraries and Gallagher Law Library.
